Search Engine Optimization is a technique to optimize one or more targeted keywords which related to our site so that those keywords can rank our site as high as possible in search engine. This is important to ensure that when people search about the targeted keywords in search engines, our site will appear on the top of the list. As people tend to click into the top site in search engine, then we may drive a lot of traffic from search engine to our site. Therefore, we need to know well about search engine so that we can do the search engine optimization effectively.
All about Search Engine
As we all know, organic traffic which is the traffic from search engine is important if we wish to make money online even with Google Adsense or Affiliate program. There are many popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and so on. These search engines can help us to drive a lot of traffic if we manage to be ranked well in their lists. Yet, these search engines keep their ranking method and algorithms as a secret in order to provide the best search results to the users. In order to prevent the spammers to clog the search results, these search engines will always update and change their algorithms.
The algorithms used by each search engines can differ widely. Sometimes, a webpage that ranks well in a search engine could rank terrible in another search engine. As you can see, the Blogging Guide blog was ranked on the 15th in the list of Yahoo search engine with the keyword “blogging guide” but still ranked out of 100 in the list of Google search engine.
Basically, the search engines will design an algorithm as a crawler or spider to crawl and index the new site and the new content of an existing site automatically. However, the crawl rate can differ for different site. The crawler always crawl the site that is frequently updated. Usually, the site with high crawl rate will be ranked well in search engine. For a new site, we can increase the indexation time by submitting the URL to Google and Yahoo manually. Another effective way to increase the indexation time for a new site is putting a link in a well established site.
